Why is my account suspended, under review or frozen?

Our team can limit what an account can do while we look into a problem, such as a copyright claim or a concern about how an account is being used. There are three kinds of hold. Each one shows a message in the app that tells you which one applies.

Account under review

What you see: a red Account Under Review banner at the top of every page: "Your account has been placed under review by our team. During this period, you cannot create or edit releases, submit content, withdraw earnings, or make any changes to your account." If you try to change something, you'll see "This account is currently under review. Changes are temporarily disabled."

What still works: you can sign in and look at your releases, analytics and money.

What to do: nothing in the app. Our team finishes the review and lifts the hold. If you think it's a mistake, or you have information that helps, contact support.

If you belong to several accounts and one of them is under review, your other accounts can also become read-only until the review ends.

What you see: a banner that says how many copyright strikes the account has, for example "1 out of 2 strikes", and "Account activity is frozen. You can still respond to claims." with a link to Review DMCA cases. A release under a claim can show "This release is disabled pending copyright review. Respond through the DMCA page."

What still works: you can view everything, and you can respond to the claim on the DMCA cases page. Other changes are blocked until the claim is dealt with.

What to do: open the DMCA page and respond to the claim as soon as you can. See Copyright claims and counter-notices for the steps.

Each copyright notice adds a strike to the account. An account with 2 strikes is permanently locked.

Access suspended

What you see: a full-page Access Suspended message: "Your access has been suspended. If you believe this is an error, please contact support." It may include a short reason. You can only sign out.

What to do: contact support from the email address on your account. Tell us your account or artist name and include the reason shown, if there was one.

Common questions

Will my releases come down from stores while my account is on hold?

A hold limits what you can change in AMM Distro. Removing a release from stores is a separate step. If a release is being taken down because of a copyright claim, the release and the claim's page say so.

Will I still be paid?

While an account is under review, earnings can't be withdrawn. If your balance is on hold, the getting-paid checklist on your Money page says "Your balance is on hold" and asks you to contact support.

How long does a review take?

It depends on the case. We'll contact you if we need anything from you.

How do I contact support?
