How earnings work

Stores pay for the streams and uses of your music, and we turn those payments into a monthly royalty statement. Your share of each statement is added to your balance on the Money page, and once you're set up to be paid, we pay your balance out automatically.

From a stream to your balance

  1. Fans stream or use your music on Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, YouTube and the other stores.
  2. Stores report and pay. Stores report earnings monthly, usually a month or two after the streams happen.
  3. We publish a statement for each month. It covers every store and every track.
  4. Your share is calculated for each track:
    • The label's or platform's share comes off first. Your percentage is set in your agreement with us.
    • If the track has an advance or costs to recoup, the recoupment is applied. See Advances and recoupment.
    • If you split the track with collaborators, each person's percentage of the artist share goes to them. See Split royalties with collaborators.
  5. Your balance goes up by your share, and the month appears under Earnings by Statement.
  6. We pay you on a schedule once your balance reaches $50 and you've set up a payout method and tax form. See When do I get paid?

Where to see your earnings

  • Money shows your Current Balance, your Earnings by Statement for recent months, and Recent Transactions. Click View All for the full list.
  • Analytics → Earnings shows your earnings from statements alongside your other analytics.
  • Download Statement on the Money page gives you a spreadsheet with every line, store and country. See Download and read your royalty statement.

What the balance labels mean

  • Available: the amount ready to be paid in the next payout.
  • Pending: an estimate from a statement paid in a foreign currency. It becomes available once the payment clears. See Statements paid in another currency.

Why earnings and streams don't line up

Stream counts in Analytics are daily and a few days behind. Earnings come from monthly statements and are a month or two behind. So this month's streams show up in earnings later. Different stores and countries also pay different amounts per stream. See Why don't my streams match my earnings?

Common questions

What share of my royalties do I keep?

It's set in your agreement with AMM Distro. Your statement shows the Label cut % on each track. If you're not sure, ask your manager, or send us a message from the chat on this page, or email team@ammdistro.com.

Do I need to request my money?

No. There's nothing to request. Payouts happen automatically once you're set up.

I'm a collaborator on someone else's track. How do I get paid?

Accept the split invitation, then set up a payout method and tax form. See Accept a royalty split invitation.
