Why was my release rejected?
A rejected release won't be distributed. Open the release to read our reason in the Release Rejected box. Problems that can be fixed, such as artwork or titles, are usually sent back as Revisions instead.
Find the reason
- Open Releases and click the release with the Rejected badge.
- Read the Release Rejected box at the top of the page. It shows the date it was reviewed and the reason.
We also email you when a release is rejected.
Reasons we reject releases
These are the reasons in our distribution policy:
- AI-generated music or AI personas. We don't distribute music that is generated by AI or released under an AI artist identity.
- Uncleared samples. Samples are fine, but every sample must be cleared. Heavy sample use can also be a reason.
- Rights you don't hold. For example, a cover or remix released without permission, or someone else's recording.
- Music that isn't a fit for AMM Distro.
We can also stop accepting releases from an account for these same reasons.
Rejected or revisions?
Status | What it means |
|---|---|
Revisions | Something needs fixing, such as artwork, titles or credits. Fix it and resubmit. See Your release needs changes. |
Rejected | We won't distribute this release. It can't be edited or resubmitted. |
What you can do
- Ask us about it. If you have questions about the decision, send us a message from the chat on this page, or email team@ammdistro.com. Your manager can explain it.
- Delete the release. Rejected releases can be deleted. Open it and choose Delete Release. This can't be undone.
If the problem was something you can fix, such as clearing a sample, talk to us before creating the release again.
Common questions
Can I resubmit a rejected release?
No. A rejected release can't be edited. Talk to us first, and if the issue can be resolved, we'll tell you how to proceed.
My release was disabled for a copyright claim.
If a release is disabled pending a copyright review, you can respond to the claim from the claims page in AMM Distro. While an account is frozen for a claim, you can still view and respond to claims.
