The AMM Distro API
The AMM Distro API lets you send releases and catalog transfers from your own systems, and check their status, without using the release builder. API access is invite-only.
What you can use it for
- Catalog transfers. Move a large catalog to AMM Distro in one go, with each release's existing ISRCs and UPCs.
- Connecting your existing systems. If your label already keeps its catalog in its own software, send new releases straight from it.
- Checking status. Read where each release stands, so your own tools stay up to date.
Releases sent through the API arrive as drafts on your account and go through the same review as releases created in the builder.
Request access
API access is turned on per account. To request it, send us a message from the chat on any AMM Distro page, or email team@ammdistro.com. Tell us your account name and what you want to connect.

Create an API key
Once access is turned on for your account:
- Go to Settings → API, or open ammdistro.com/settings/api.
- Click Create key.
- Name the key so you can tell it apart later, choose Send releases or Read only, and choose the accounts it covers. A key for a label also covers all of its sub-accounts.
- Copy the key straight away. It won't be shown again.
Send the key in the Authorization: Bearer <key> header. Treat it like a password.

Only admins of an account can create and manage its API keys. If you see "API access is off", access hasn't been turned on for that account yet.
Common questions
I lost a key.
Keys can't be shown again. Revoke the old key on Settings → API and create a new one. Requests with a revoked key stop working immediately.
Do API releases skip review?
No. They're reviewed exactly like releases made in the builder.
Can I use the API for one artist on my label?
Yes. When you create the key, choose only the accounts it should cover.
